Policies
The Business Development Directorate works closely with the other Directorates of the Ministry to develop a number of policies that will improve the regulatory environment in which business operate. Currently, there are five (5) policies in the pipeline at various stages of completion.
Industrial Policy
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has been charged with creating an Industrial Policy (IP) for Trinidad and Tobago. The proposed Industrial Policy serves as a strategic roadmap to help us achieve our objectives of economic diversification, growing the business sector and promoting investment.
Used Car Policy
The Used Car Policy will inform the administration of the importation of used right hand drive motor vehicles. It will address inter alia, the criteria for the granting of import licences for used right hand drive motor vehicles, weaknesses associated with the current regime and quality and consumer protection issues associated with the purchase of imported used right-hand drive motor vehicles.
