If you are interested in exploring business and trade opportunities in Cuba you should contact the TIDCO Trade Facilitation Office (TFO), an initiative of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago designed to promote and increase trade and investment between this country and Cuba.

The office is designed to function as a conduit between the manufacturers and service providers of Trinidad and Tobago and those State companies in Cuba authorized to import and trade on the Cuban market. Specifically, the Office will promote and facilitate trade and investment activities through:
  • Identifying opportunities for exporters within the Cuban market, in particular advising our   manufacturers of the products which can be exported to Cuba and establishing critical links with the relevant state companies.
  • Conducting market intelligence including import and export requirements and standards.
  • Showcasing Trinidad and Tobago’s products in the Cuban market.
  • Providing critical business support services with a view to resolving problems expeditiously.
Through the TFO, Cuban enterprises can gain access to a wide range of consumer goods, industrial and chemical products from a well-known Caribbean source with the major benefit of geographic proximity.

The TFO is based in Havana, at the Miramar Trade Centre, a business complex which houses numerous international corporations and diplomatic missions. The TFO is strategically positioned in the heart of an area recognized as a hub for foreign trade agencies, with convenient access to major support services including banking and hotel accommodation. The Trade Centre is just 10 – 15 minutes away from Old Havana and 20 minutes away from the Jose Martí International Airport.

The TFO was officially launched on September 6th, 2007 by the Hon. Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, during a gala event. Ministerial teams from both countries were present as well as members of the CARICOM Diplomatic Corps, the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and representatives from various major Cuban Corporations.
