  • Seafood

Film
The Ministry of Trade and Industry has established the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (TTFC) to facilitate the development of the film industry with the aim
of generating employment and fostering economic activity. The TTFC is also seeking to highlight and preserve the nation's culture, act as a conduit for the
transfer of morals and values and contribute to the evolution of our social processes. Click here.

Music and Entertainment
The entertainment industry in Trinidad and Tobago has experienced tremendous growth since the 1960s due to the increasing external demand for assistance with the burgeoning Trinidad-type carnival celebrations throughout the region and across the globe. As such, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has established the Trinidad and Tobago Entertainment Company (TTEnt) to facilitate the development of a globally competitive entertainment industry.

Seafood
There is much potential for the development of the seafood industry, given Trinidad and Tobago's strategic geographical location and the diverse nature of its fish resource. The industry also benefits from an enterprising game fishing sector, which has the potential to develop even further. The Seafood Industry Development Company (SIDC) has been established to take advantage of these opportunities that exist in the seafood industry.

Merchant Marine
The local maritime industry is ideally placed to facilitate transshipment trade. The industry has also developed competitive ancillary sectors in bunkering, marine construction and ship repair. The Maritime Industry Development Committee (MIDC) has been established to facilitate the development of this industry.

Printing and Packaging
Printing and Packaging is a key manufacturing industry employer and a major value-adding sector. This cluster comprises some 269 firms employing approximately 11,000 persons. Opportunities for growth of this industry exist through the use of product expansion strategies as well as increased use of up-to-date technology. The Printing and Packaging Industry Council (PPIC) has been mandated to facilitate the development of this industry.

Food and Beverage
The food and beverage industry has a long history and is very advanced in terms of technological, and market development. It is part of an established value chain, maintaining linkages with such areas as printing and packaging, research and development, and training, which together support growth of the industry. Apart from the traditional focus on diasporic markets, the local food and
beverage sector has a unique opportunity to brand and create specialty foods for the overseas gourmet markets. These opportunities are amplified given the rapid opening up of global markets, the increased appreciation in the Northern hemisphere for "exotic" foods, and the growth of the gourmet lifestyle in the more developed metropolitan communities. A Food and Beverage Industry
Development Committee (FBIDC) is charged with further development of this industry.

Yachting
The increase in the number of recreational boats worldwide has led to increased demand for marina space. Given Trinidad and Tobago’s location and the current changes in weather patterns, there is potential for an increase in the number of yachts visiting our shores for yacht repair and storage. As such, the yachting industry in Trinidad and Tobago has been targeted for development, given the opportunities that exist for diversifying the economy from its dependence on the Energy Sector. The Yachting Steering Committee (YSC) is primarily responsible for advancing the yachting industry.
